dentist office kbk - interior
The dentist office is situated in the centre of Rijeka in the 1907. residential building.
Two major requirements dictated the design:
– the maximum utility of the given space within the limitations that the function of the dentist office provides as such.
– a deliberate separation of public and private spaces within the office (the spaces that are used by the patients and by the staff only)
This division is achieved through a careful zoning of spaces, aiming at complete control over the movement of patients. The southern part, which is also an entrance, is logically designed as patients’ space, with a waiting room and a toilet, while the office area, for staff exclusively, is situated in the north. The overlapping operative zone is in the east.
A careful analysis of the complete space and an intentional functional integration of working units resulted in a logic grouping of spaces, achieving the maximum comfort for the patients and the maximum productivity for the staff.
As a dentist office itself requires a certain amount of physical cleanliness, the space is mainly dyed white, colours used mainly as to accentuate elements within the space.
